After months of giving previews of the new TV app—of which Elon Musk reportedly thinks X will compete with YouTube—X has finally publicly unveiled the beta version of X TV, which it described as “a major leap forward in transforming X into a video-first platform.”
The most well-known YouTuber, MrBeast, was convinced to start posting full videos on the service that was once known as Twitter by Musk himself. Earlier in the year, X CEO Linda Yaccarino declared that the platform was becoming more of a “video first” one.
The app is currently accessible in beta for Android TVs, as well as LG, Amazon Fire TV, and Google TV, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla said in a post on X.
Elon Musk said that the app will eventually be available on more devices as part of the company’s plans.

It is promoted as a new way to explore the world of X in the Play Store listing, but it begs the question of whether anyone enjoys using social networking on a remote-controlled large screen.
