Bode George, the former deputy national chairman of the Democrats, has targeted party members in the opposition alliance headed by the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
When George spoke on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program on Friday, he said that it was unacceptable for PDP members, including Atiku Abubakar, to remain party members and still be involved in the coalition movement.
You cannot serve two masters, as the Bible states. You can choose to serve A or B. But to say that you are in A and B is a misunderstanding, George said.
He accused David Mark, the leader of the ADC coalition and former Senate President, and Atiku of being at the heart of the internal conflicts afflicting the PDP.
George claimed that the ADC-led alliance lacked the cohesion and structure required to constitute a respectable opposition force.
It is simply existential imbecility, or maybe existential docility, he asserted.
What is their motivation for being there? This is where your father resides. You were thrust into the spotlight by the mansion. You received all the accolades and acclaim you are due from this same house.
“When there is a minor crisis, is it customary to quit? But you stay there. Do you run out of options when your house leaks? The landlord is you, not them.
Do they have a plan? Could you explain their strategy to me? It’s a tactic without style.
The PDP chieftain also recounted the events leading up to the party’s 2023 presidential primary, which he described as the catalyst for the conflict.
“When we held the last convention, General Buhari had just completed his eighth year. We declined Atiku Abubakar’s plea to compete since a Northerner had just concluded after eight years,” he said.
In the South was Peter Obi. This was the beginning of the issue.
Mark, who chaired the convention, and Iyorchia Ayu, who was then the party’s national chairman, should be held accountable for the outcome, George said.

You can’t get away with doing such things, of course. He went on, “Then I warned against it.”
On Wednesday, coalition members announced the ADC as their 2027 platform.
Former Sokoto governor Aminu Tambuwal, former Kogi senator Dino Melaye, editor of Ovation magazine Dele Momodu, former Benue governor Gabriel Suswam, and former PDP national chairman Uche Secondus were among the notable PDP members that attended the event.
