Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved a ₦100,000 bonus for civil servants, public servants, and pensioners in the state.
This approval was announced in a statement signed by the State’s Head of Service, George Nwaeke, on Tuesday. Dr. Nwaeke confirmed that the approval, granted on Monday, aims to ensure that workers and senior citizens enjoy a fulfilling Christmas celebration.

This marks the second time during Governor Fubara’s administration that civil servants in the state will receive a Christmas bonus of ₦100,000. Notably, this is the first time pensioners have been included in the bonus distribution.
In his Christmas message, Governor Fubara urged the people of Rivers State to embrace peace, unity, and love throughout the festive season and beyond.
The governor, through his Chief Press Secretary Nelson Chukwudi, emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence, especially in light of the nation’s current economic and security challenges.
He also assured the people of Rivers State that the coming year would bring new opportunities and lasting fulfillment.
