2027: PDP Becoming Laughable, Faces Crushing Defeat

Professor Okey Ikechukwu, a policy analyst and public affairs commentator, has stated that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is not prepared to win the 2027 elections.
According to him, the PDP’s house is in chaos, and the party does not pose a danger to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
Professor Ikechukwu spoke on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Friday, recalling the PDP’s former strength but lamenting that the party has now reached a low point and is battling to recover.

He claimed that unless the PDP can address its internal issue in time for the 2027 elections, it will face a crushing defeat in the polls and be carried out on a stretcher.

The policy expert stated, “The PDP is a very strong party, one that ran successful campaigns under (former President) Obasanjo, Audu Ogbe, and even Atiku (Abubakar).” I believe you had three campaign teams in 2003. Today, it has reduced to a sobbing collection of perplexed men and women faking a political party.

“What else does the PDP do now than talk about its disagreements? It occasionally issues press releases criticizing the APC, believing that this represents political opposition.”

Ikechukwu went on to say that, in addition to losing its position as the dominant party, the PDP has failed to provide meaningful opposition to the existing government.

He regretted that the party had not made itself appealing to either lawmakers or voters.

“The whole point of opposition is to present a profile that will make you appealing to the next person, that will make someone say to themselves, ‘No, no, no, I need this man to replace this other guy; they don’t know what they are doing.'”

“Please tell me what makes the PDP attractive now. Internally, everything is in complete turmoil,” he said.

Failure is looming
The policy analyst encouraged the PDP to immediately put its affairs in order if it wants to gain anything significant out of the 2027 elections.

“So, in the next election, it will participate but not contest; this is incongruous.

“You are taking part in an event but your preparation is such that we know that you are going to get there and get beaten thoroughly and carried out on a stretcher, except a dramatic reconfiguration occurs within that party, with clear attention to the need to modify the optics of people you see in the party,” Ikechukwu told the audience.

The Wike factor
Professor Ikechukwu stated that while the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, is a political asset to any party, the PDP should be humiliated that the former governor is still a member, given his alleged anti-party activities.

He chastised the PDP for what he called the party’s incapacity to handle Wike or bring him to heel, stressing that such indicators are only making the party look more silly in the political sphere.

Ikechukwu stated, “Wike, whether you like him or not, you must ask yourself: Is this man a fool? The answer is “no.” Does he understand what he’s doing? Maybe. Can you overlook him? The answer is “no.” The PDP should be humiliated that Wike is still a member, given everything he has done and is doing.

“The PDP should be embarrassed that it has been unable to manage such a man, since Wike would be a political asset to whomever he works for. He is currently a political advantage to those with whom he works. However, allowing him to bestride both lanes and travel at 160 kilometers per hour demonstrates that there is no traffic control.

“The PDP, with all due respect to the outstanding members of that party, is becoming more absurd with each passing hour. “They should stop kidding themselves.”
