On Wednesday, November 12, suspected bandits allegedly shot and killed three security personnel in Idadu, Agbashi Development Area, Doma Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.
It is known that two vigilante members and a police officer from the Agbashi Police Division were ambushed while conducting a combined patrol.
Community sources told Vanguard that the gunmen unexpectedly opened fire on the operatives when they were on a routine patrol along the Doma-Idadu Road.
According to the insider, the assailants used “commando-style precision,” firing at their targets without provocation or effort at compromise.
Since at least seven people have been killed in the nearby Keana and Doma towns in the last week, the tragedy contributes to the growing wave of violence in the area.
The allegedly well-armed bandits have persisted in terrorizing locals around the area with their frequent attacks.
The Nasarawa State Government has recently assured the public that it has stepped up security measures to stop the resurgence of assaults, but the killings still occur.
