Given the ongoing internal conflict plaguing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State, PDP stakeholders have advised former governor Sule Lamido to think about joining a different political party.
Following its meeting at the PDP state office, a communiqué signed by its chairman, Hon. Ali Idris Diginsa, included this information and was made accessible to reporters.
It voiced its worries about the party’s alleged worsening internal crises and the leadership’s inability to settle unresolved conflicts.
The Forum accused the party of allegedly excluding Lamido and keeping him from running for national chairman for reasons they were aware of.
The recent altercation between Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja was embarrassing and deplorable. What is happening in the party is revealing the party’s flaws and embarrassment.
The forum declared, “Due to ongoing animosity, mistrust, and divisions among its members, the PDP is no longer a formidable national platform.”
Nonetheless, the party chairmen reiterated the members’ allegiance to Sule Lamido and pledged complete support and loyalty in any choice he makes.
Lamido is the only member of the ancient G9 and G18 groups still alive who has never left the PDP, even during the height of the Buhari political wave in the North, according to the forum.
The organization declared, “We implore our leader to look for a workable political platform that would enable his followers to pursue the dream of a greater Jigawa and Nigeria.”
