Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, has boldly declared that President Bola Tinubu will win the state’s 2027 presidential election.

In an interview with prominent journalist Babajide Otitoju, the governor promised to step down if the state’s president is not elected in 2027.

Okpebholo maintained that Edo’s people were totally in agreement before 2027, citing state initiatives and improvements in governance made since the All Progressives Congress (APC) came to power.

“Everyone in this state is in favor of Asiwaju; there is no opposition here in Edo,” he declared.

Only a few weeks after Okpebholo’s administration launched new state-level infrastructure initiatives, the video clip of the interview has reportedly continued to trend online with varied comments.

The governor acknowledged that the president has more political clout in the state than he does.

“In Edo State, Tinubu is more popular than me,” Okpebholo declared.

“I will step down if he doesn’t win the Edo presidential election in 2027.”

Okpebholo reiterated his demand, saying, “I will resign if he doesn’t win in 2027.”

“Edo residents are already aware that Asiwaju’s influence is the reason behind my actions. I am informing you. Since there is no opposition in Edo, you will witness the kind of outcome that would emerge.

“Everyone is come to support Asiwaju. Who are the people of Obaseki? Is there a man in Albasaki? Now let him come here. Is Oshiomole not here on the street? Oh, allow him to arrive.

“I’m telling you, anytime he comes to Edo, wherever he is, he’ll be hearing me now,” bragged Okpebholo. Allow him to enter. I’ll wager with you if he shows up. Are you able to wager?

“I’m not scaring him. He is aware. I’ll tell you whether or not he should come based on the record.

“You can’t come here and con Edo. Give him permission. He is unable to attend. I am informing you. due to his dismal record. He won’t come because of his bad record.

“No child on the street will pray for Albasaki when they can stand to pray for me.” No homeless mother will offer prayers for Obaseki.
