The kidnapping of Ibukun Otesile, the incoming president of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ibadan Elite for 2025, has been confirmed by the Nigeria Police Force’s Oyo State command.

Otesile was reportedly kidnapped on Thursday night in front of her house in the General Gas neighborhood of Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Adewale Osifeso, the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the situation by stating that the incident happened on Thursday at approximately 8:00 p.m. On Thursday night, she was abducted. Osifeso stated, “The investigation is still ongoing.

Olalekan Babatunde, the founder and general overseer of Jesus Is King Ministries in Ibadan, is the father of Otesile, a mother of two.

On Friday, word of her kidnapping swiftly circulated on social media, causing a great deal of anxiety.

Olamide Olanrewaju, the personal assistant of Apostle Joshua Sola Akinyemiju, the departing Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Oyo State, confirmed the occurrence to journalists and provided information about the distress warning. Olanrewaju claims that the association was informed at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Her father is a part of the WhatsApp group that we all belong to. According to Olanrewaju, the CAN chairman posted it as a distress call, stating that Reverend (Dr.) Lekan Babatunde’s daughter had been abducted.

“Everyone in the group became anxious and began to say, ‘Prayer, prayer, prayer.'” Everyone, even religious leaders, was in prayer. I stated that while prayer is beneficial, we also need to act morally.

Before spreading the warning, Olanrewaju included Rev. Moses, the chaplain of the Oyo State Police Force Headquarters, in the same WhatsApp group.

“I found out that she was abducted at the General Gas fence in front of her home. Olanrewaju continued, “Only God knows what she was doing there, where she went, or who she was with.

“The daughter of our beloved Reverend Dr. Lekan Babatunde was kidnapped this night, Thursday, December 4, around 8:00 p.m,” the CAN distress notice states. The mother of two, Ibukun Otesile, was abducted in front of her gate at General Gas in Akobo.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) demanded that the Nigerian Army Headquarters and the Nigeria Police Force use all available resources to secure Otesile’s safe and prompt release in reaction to the kidnapping.
