Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has addressed rumors that Kashim Shettima, the vice president, would be removed from President Bola Tinubu’s running mate in 2027.
During an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday, Morka reportedly said that Tinubu’s political trajectory as Lagos State’s governor rendered Shettima’s potential replacement speculative.
According to Morka, the party’s support for President Tinubu’s second term extends to the vice president.
“When the time comes, the position of Vice President is liable to conversations at the party level, you know, for decisions as to who becomes Vice President,” he stated.
Therefore, in my opinion, endorsing the President also means endorsing the current Vice President, regardless of whether his name is on the ballot, since the President is the one who is running for office.
Since it’s a shared ticket, it’s difficult to simply assume that and state such. The President has had the chance to replace his deputies and has previously been mentioned as governor.
