The All Democratic Alliance’s (ADA) promoter, Umar Ardo, has refuted allegations that the prospective party is associated with Peter Obi, a previous presidential candidate for the Labour Party.

Ardo denied rumors that Obi was funding ADA during his appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday, calling them untrue and deceptive.

According to him, there was conjecture that the reason INEC was hesitant to register ADA was because they thought Obi was supporting the party and planned to join it.

He asserts that he has the constitutional right to support a political party as a Nigerian citizen, even if Obi were implicated.

He clarified that the ADA’s promoters were unhappy by INEC’s decision to deny clearance, despite having fulfilled all legal procedures for registration.

According to Ardo, the organization had made the decision to pursue legal action, and the case will be brought before the court and, if required, the Supreme Court.

“Yes, time is running out,” he said. They claim that ADA is Peter Obi’s own political party and that he would rejoin it. This is one of the accusations that are currently circulating in the rumor cycle. Therefore, you know, ADA shouldn’t be registered due of its political overtone. Without acknowledging that Peter Obi is the driving force behind the ADA, this is untrue. Is Peter Obi not a Nigerian? Is he not? Does he not have the authority to support political parties and other organizations?

It isn’t about Peter Obi, though, as I mentioned. Peter Obi and I have never met. Nobody has brought up Peter Obi or me in relation to this issue.

However, we will remain silent if we meet all of this and then they (INEC) say no. Let the courts decide. That’s where we stand. if the court makes a decision quickly. You see, if the court decides in our favor, we think we will vote in the election; however, if not, we will appeal to the Supreme Court. The fact that we are voting in this election or not is essentially irrelevant. We only wish to demonstrate that we have complied with all legal criteria, yet INEC denied us registration for no valid reason.
