Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), oversaw the defection of a number of members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the APC in Kano State’s Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area on Sunday.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State will officially welcome the party at a rally prior to this event.
Both party loyalists and the new defectors supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for second terms in power during the event.
An influential native of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency took advantage of the event to publicly urge Hon. Mustapha Bala Dawaki, the Chief of Staff to the APC National Chairman, to get back into politics and run for the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa House of Representatives seat.
Leading APC leaders were among those who attended the well-attended event:
Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the Deputy Senate President; Senator Barau Jibrin; Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Kano State APC Chairman; Abdullahi Abbas, the Executive Chairman of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi); Ismail Ahmed, the President’s Special Adviser on Senate Matters; Senator Bashir Lado Mohammed; and a number of other party leaders and interested parties
