Governor Peter Mbah, the national panel of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Enugu State chapter of the party have praised the local government congress for being democratic and peaceful.
The chairman of the national panel for APC Ward and Local Government Congresses in Enugu State, Hon. Solomon Funkekeme, spoke after observing the election of a new local government party executive and three-man national delegates at Amagunze, Nkanu East LGA, on Saturday. He praised the unity, harmony, and openness that prevailed and described the state’s APC chapter as an example that other states should follow.
First of all, I want to praise the governor for his leadership inside the party. As we have witnessed here today, the first step towards progress is to come together. This panel has noted that attempts have been made to guarantee that people travel together.
Once more, the way the congress is acting here is excellent. There is an electrifying atmosphere. We didn’t notice any opposition, therefore everyone is delighted and our job was made easier. I applaud this local government’s citizens and don’t have any objections.
“I want to make a plea to all other local governments to follow Nkanu East Local Government’s example of holding peaceful congresses that will enable the governor to continue to provide the benefits of democracy.” He said that without peace and harmony, no state can grow.
At the congress, Governor Mbah also congratulated the party leaders and supporters for proving that the Enugu APC had become a single, large family. Hon. Abel Nwigwe was elected as the new party chairman in Nkanu East.
The example we just saw today is one that I think everyone should follow. We have shown that we are deeply united and that this assembly is a fraternal endeavor.
Additionally, this is a paradigm that is not unique to Nkanu East; according to the information I have gotten thus far, what we have seen here today is precisely what is happening throughout Enugu State’s other 16 LGAs.

Hon. Okechukwu Edeh, the chairman of the Nkanu East Council, welcomed Mbah. Hon. Okey Mbah, the member for the Nkanu East State Constituency, as well as other prominent local government officials and political figures, assured the people of the state that democracy would continue to be delivered to all areas of the state.
In the meantime, Governor Mbah had already visited Agbani, the site of the Nkanu West LGA APC convention, and he also praised the party leaders and delegates for prioritizing the organisation.
The peace and friendliness in the Nkanu West APC was a great asset, according to Mbah, who was welcomed by the Council Chairman, Hon. John Ogbodo, as well as other party leaders, including Hon.
