According to reports, Iroegbu made the statement in response to the Appeal Court’s decision over the PDP National Convention, which took place in Ibadan, Oyo State, last November.
The appeal filed by the PDP faction led by Taminu Turaki was rejected by the Appeal Court in Abuja on Monday.
The Federal High Court in Abuja, which on October 31, 2025, prohibited the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from acknowledging the results of the PDP’s 2025 National Convention, was also affirmed by the Court.
Iroegbu insisted that the PDP cannot be an extension of the ruling APC when responding to queries in an interview on ARISE Television’s “Prime Time” show.
“PDP will not become an extension of the APC,” he declared. A PDP faction leader has declared his support for the APC government. They ought to simply move into the APC.
“You can’t be here and there, but it’s okay to support whoever you want to support.”
“That is the problem. This kind of shenanigans has flourished in the political sphere because of our system. It is depressing.
As I mentioned earlier, the ruling today did not support our position, but it also did not uphold the illegality known as the “Caretaker Committee” because you cannot put anything on nothing.
The Appeal Court upheld the suspension of the group that established the Caretaker Committee today.
They established what they dubbed the Caretaker Committee during that ban.
“So how can anyone say that you are continuing with your so-called Caretaker Committee after receiving confirmation that their suspension is still in effect?”
