The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction led by Nyesom Wike has maintained that it will not back President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming general elections in 2027.
In an interview with Channels Television’s “Morning Brief” on Monday, the faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, revealed this.
He claims that in the general elections, the PDP will run its own presidential candidate.
“We will not back President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the general election of 2027.” We’ll exert every effort to field our own candidate.
And I’m pleading with Nigerians to give us a little more time until our primaries are held.
“All of the rumors that we support the APC or are affiliated with it will come to pass.
“All of these rumors and propaganda will be resolved over time. It is intended to damage either the PDP or Nyesom Wike, the Honorable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory,” he stated.
