Bode George Slams Tinubu Over Insecurity, Alleges Use of INEC Against Opposition

Chief Olabode George, who used to be the Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says that President Bola Tinubu is not doing his job as the leader of Nigeria and is instead trying to destroy opposition parties in the country.

George said in a statement on Thursday that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are working together to make President Tinubu the only candidate for the 2027 general election.

The PDP leader used the story of Abimilech from the Bible as an example. He killed almost everyone and everything to become king.

He also said that God showed Abimelech and the people of Shechem that He can handle anyone He made.

The elder statesman told all leaders and elders, no matter what party they belonged to, to stand up and speak out against what was going on, which he called evil.

“They are willing to destroy all the basic principles, beliefs, and values of democracy to get what they want.”

George also yelled at the INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, saying that he was defending the Electoral umpire’s use of technicalities to fire political party executives.

He did, however, say that all actions would have consequences and that people wouldn’t stay in office forever.

I don’t think some of the people who are causing problems in the government today were born back then. I’ve seen it all, whether it was military or civilian. He also said that Nigeria is slowly falling apart because the leaders are not doing what they promised, and he warned that Nigeria is too big to be controlled.

INEC Has Gone Off Track
George said that INEC was letting the ruling party use it as a tool to destroy Nigeria’s democracy by working against the opposition.

He asked Nigerians not to let this happen.

“It is sad that the electoral body has turned into an undertaker, ordered by the ruling party to kill this democracy.

“Sadly, our courts are also losing their way. I remember the great years when Justices Elias, Kayode Eso, Oputa, Belgore, Uwais, and others were on the bench. The rot in the courts today is terrible.

“Any wrong is a sign of injustice.” There is bad in the country right now. It is clear that injustice can never win over justice. Justice is done when you make good decisions. It is unfair to use technicalities to make wrong decisions.

George said that President Tinubu is only planning how to get back into power in 2027 while people in Nigeria are being killed.

“Every day, Nigerians are being killed, and no one is taking responsibility for what is happening. The Commander-in-Chief is only making statements after each murder. They should have used that energy to deal with these criminals, but instead they are using it to destroy parties.

“You want to be the only person running for president in 2027 in Nigeria, which is a country with many cultures, religions, and ethnic groups. How can that be? We need to support a democracy with more than one party. George said, “That is the backbone of participatory democracy.”
