Ambassador Lotanna Ikebunwa, who is running for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) House of Representatives in Anambra State’s Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, has dismissed recent endorsements of President Bola Tinubu by some state governors.

Ikebunwa said that the endorsements were not important in politics, according to reports.

Ikebunwa said during the opening of the ADC Good Governance Initiative at Anaedo Hall in Nnewi that the endorsements do not show what Nigerians want.

“The governors’ support for Tinubu is personal to them because the people are not with them. He said, “Nigerians want change.”

He also said that a lot of people are staying away from the ruling party because of the bad economy.

The former president of the Students’ Union Government said he was sure he would win the 2027 elections.
He said that traders, young people, women, and other important people in the constituency all support him strongly.

Ikebunwa criticized the current representative’s performance, saying they did not represent the people well and that there was no progress.

“We’re behind in everything.” He said, “There is no clean water, no federal presence, and no real support for businesses in Nnewi.”

He said that the constituency is behind other areas when it comes to federal presence and empowerment programs.

The candidate also said that he had helped the party by giving it ward offices and other resources to improve its work at the local level.

He says that the initiative has helped the party get more members and work together better at the local level.

Chief Ibeokonkwo Michael, who was in charge of the event, said he was hopeful about Ikebunwa’s goal.
He said he thinks the candidate will win the ADC ticket and go to the National Assembly in 2027 to represent the constituency.
