Fani-Kayode Criticises ADC Convention, Uses Harsh Language

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, has spoken out against the recent national convention held by the David-Mark faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He said it was disorganized and not credible.

In a strongly worded post on his X account on Saturday, he said the event showed poor coordination and lack of unity among the participants, who seemed uncomfortable because the facilities were not up to par, such as the lack of working air conditioning.

A few days ago, I saw a group of ADC members hold what they called their party convention, and it was sad.

“I saw a hall that was too full of hot, sweaty men and women,” he said.

He also said that the event was marked by disorderly behavior and confusion among the people who were there.

“They were sweating a lot, arguing loudly with each other, and fighting.”

He went on to tell a story about an older participant who accidentally referred to another party during his speech, which he said made things awkward.

“He took the microphone and yelled ‘APC’ before realizing he was really at an ADC Convention,” he said.

Fani-Kayode also said that the event’s look and feel were not serious or cohesive.

“Please forgive me for saying this, but this was a strange group of people who had no sense of purpose, unity, or direction.”

“What we saw was more like a meeting of hungry, ragged, and desperate jackals and long-rejected souls who want to get back in power than a real and serious political party convention.

The President was right to call theirs a “street Convention.” What he didn’t say was that it was a street convention for vagabonds, riggers, and wanderers. He said.

He said that the faction’s political power is not strong enough to be a real threat in the upcoming elections.
