Peter Obi Our President (PETOOP) is a group that supports Obi and wants the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to give the 2027 presidential ticket to the southern geopolitical zone.

PETOOP told former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to give up his desperate attempt at all costs. Saying, “The North has been in charge of Nigeria more times than the South since 1960.” The South has a better chance of making the next president.

The group also said that ADC must let its presidential candidate come from the southern part of Nigeria. “Not doing so would be like giving the ruling party APC under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu an easy win in 2027.”

On Saturday, Magnus Oraka, the National Converner of PETOOP, told reporters at the NUJ secretary that this was the case.

Oraka said that democracy and government have become “comic theater,” and that Obi is a brand that gives people the chance to lead.

The group thinks Obi will change the story, based on what he’s done in the past.

He also told Prof. Joash Amupitan, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to step down right away because he thought there was “partisan interference in ADC affairs.”

Oraka said that the tweet “victory is sure” that Prof. Amupitan sent out shows that INEC can’t be trusted to run free, fair, and credible elections under his leadership.

“INEC has stopped being an unbiased referee and has become openly partisan. “We have the proof,” Oraka said.

He said that INEC’s recent involvement in the ADC’s internal party matters is wrong.

“INEC has gone beyond its constitutional duties by not recognizing Senator David Mark as the rightful leader of the party.

“If Amupitan still has any sense of honor, he will resign today. If he says no, President Tinubu must show statesmanship by firing him right away.

“If the President doesn’t do anything, the National Assembly must use its constitutional powers to make sure that our electoral management body is honest again.

“A partisan INEC is the end of free elections.” We won’t accept a situation where the referee wears the jersey of one team.

Oraka promised that if the conditions given didn’t work, they would take action, and they wouldn’t stop until justice is served.
