On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with former President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa.
According to reports, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said this.
As of the time this report was written, the reason for the meeting has not been made public.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan meets with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In the meantime, Jonathan has answered former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s claim that he was not competent while he was in office.
During a live TV interview, Atiku said that Jonathan made a lot of mistakes as President because he was new to the job.
“I know Goodluck Jonathan very well.” He is a good young man, but he doesn’t have a lot of experience, which I think made it hard for him to run the country, especially when things got tough, he said.
Jonathan said that no one who becomes a governor or president would say they didn’t make mistakes in response to Atiku’s statement at the 2025 Association of Retired Career Ambassadors of Nigeria awards ceremony in Abuja on Monday.
He stood up for his government and said he did his best while he was president.
Jonathan said, “Not too long ago, a very important politician said, ‘Oh, Jonathan was too young, and that’s probably why he made mistakes.’
“Yes, I made mistakes. No one who becomes a governor or president will say you didn’t make mistakes. When you put yourself on the same level as a god, you become a god.
“Everyone makes mistakes. I was 53 years old when I became president in 2010. They say I was too young when I left in 2015 at the age of 58. “Did I really run the state for 100 years?”
