The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State has officially denied reports that Rev. Fr. David Terzugwe Golozo has become the party’s consensus candidate for the Gboko West (Gbemacha) State Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
The Gboko LGA chairman, Hon. Terfa Iorgilim, signed a statement saying that the party’s position is not reflected in the publication that is currently going around on social media.
The statement called the claim “false, misleading, and completely unauthorized,” and it said that it looks like someone is trying to mislead the public and change how the party works from the inside.
The statement said, “To be clear, the APC in Gboko LGA has never chosen or supported any one person as a consensus candidate for the said constituency.”
The party also made it clear that none of its ward structures, key stakeholders, or the State Working Committee had approved such a decision.
The APC leadership says that this development is “political mischief” that could cause unnecessary stress within the party and the larger political system.
It told the people or groups behind the claim to take down the publication right away, saying that any member found guilty could face disciplinary action.
The APC said again that it was committed to a candidate selection process that was open and based on the Constitution. It also promised members and supporters that official decisions would be made known through the right channels.
