The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has told content creators not to use its name in any kind of media without getting written permission first. Those who do will be prosecuted.
Naija News says that the EFCC sent out a statement on its 𝕏 handle on Saturday saying that it has noticed a growing trend among content creators using its name, logo, uniforms, and other official identity in skits and online productions.
The EFCC said that many unauthorized comedy skits often misrepresent its values and standards, and it made it clear that it has not given permission for any of these uses.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has learned that some people and content creators are using the name, logo, and likeness of EFCC in skits and other media.
“Many of these skits don’t accurately show our values and how we do things. We want to let everyone know that the EFCC has not given permission for this kind of use. The EFCC does not support, fund, or approve any online, comedy, or drama content that uses our name without our written permission.
“Therefore, we ask the public to stop using our name, logo, uniforms, or any other identifying elements in skits or promotional materials without our written permission. Anyone who breaks these rules will be prosecuted, so be careful.
