The Obi–Kwankwaso (OK) Movement, which backs Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, is working harder than ever to get the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket before the 2027 elections.
The group said it is working to make sure that no other candidate gets the party’s presidential ticket, and talks between both sides are still going on.
In an interview with the Daily Post, Habibu Mohammad, the spokesperson for the Kwankwasiyya Movement, said he was sure that the alliance would come up with a joint ticket.
“We’re working together and talking to each other to make sure we reach a common goal,” he said.
Mohammad said that Kwankwaso is willing to do anything that will help the party win in 2027.
“My principal, Kwankwaso, has said that Obi can be his deputy. “He is ready for anything that will help ADC get rid of President Tinubu,” he said.
He also said that the former governor of Kano is willing to work with any legal political group that can challenge the current government.
The movement said that the Kwankwasiyya and Obidient groups are working together to keep outside forces from affecting the party’s primaries.
“We’re not going our separate ways anymore; we’re joining forces. “We won’t give in to any primary that isn’t credible,” Mohammad said.
He also said that some candidates might try to sway the process with money, but the coalition would fight against these moves.
The group also asked Atiku Abubakar to help bring the opposition together.
He went on to say, “We are praying and hoping that Atiku will be a father to all of us so that we can keep giving him the respect he deserves.”
