The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has said that Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, remains an ordained pastor of the church.
This was stated by Adeboye during the monthly Holy Ghost Service of the church.
He said the First Lady was ordained as an Assistant Pastor more than 10 years ago, long before her husband, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, became a presidential candidate.
He said her ordination was done through due process and she had not violated any of the church’s doctrines or regulations.
The revered cleric also dismissed calls in some quarters for her to be removed, insisting that the church will not bow to outside pressure on the matter.
Meanwhile, Adeboye has revealed how he handled valuable gifts in the early days of his ministry.
He reportedly made this revelation during a thanksgiving service at his church.
Adeboye recalled receiving a Mercedes Benz from an old woman while he was still commuting by bus.
He didn’t know what to do with it and left it unused for a while. He said a dream later reminded him that the refusal of the gift was holding back the woman’s blessing from coming to life.
With this in mind, he gave the car to his late deputy, Pastor Abiodun, who told him to enjoy the car. But Pastor Adeboye decided to pass it on.
Later he was surprised when he was given three more Mercedes-Benz cars.
One night a man came home at 2:00 AM in a rare Mercedes Limousine with six doors and said it was sent by God.
Pastor Adeboye prayed and felt he could sell the car.
He sold it and used the money to buy motorcycles for his pastors. This is how he redirected luxury gifts to serve others.
He said: “I nearly said, ‘Alakoba wo le leyi?’ I hope this one’s not going to get me in trouble.
“Why are you robbing my daughter of her blessing? She planted a seed and you are not letting the seed grow.
“Even if I die and they put me in this car, I will get up. Can I sell the car?
“I remember selling it and using the money to buy motorcycles for my pastors.
