Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has expressed optimism that God will continue to guide President Bola Tinubu in leading Nigeria up to 2031 for the development of the country.
Umahi disclosed this on Thursday while inspecting some ongoing bridge projects in Lagos State including the Carter Bridge which is scheduled for reconstruction next week.
The minister said the Tinubu administration would continue to enjoy divine support to tackle the challenges facing the nation especially insecurity.
“The God that brought him will be there to solve all the problems,” Umahi said, appealing to Nigerians to support and cooperate with the present administration in its efforts to tackle security problems in the country.
“No leader wants instability while they are in power,” he said, but “any responsible government will meet the challenges head-on as they arise.”
“No leader will want to have a violent reign, but when the crises come, the leader has to face it. And that is just what we are doing,” he said.
He said, “Whether political or otherwise, I believe that Tinubu will be given the wisdom and the strength to overcome the security challenges of the country and address other national issues.
The minister also expressed hope that the current administration will complete all projects started under its watch.
Umahi said the government was confident that the leadership of Tinubu was still having the divine favour. “The hands that started this will finish it.
The minister said the reconstruction of the Carter Bridge project will be completed within three years.
It’s within our five-year plan,” he said.
