Wole Oluyede, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, arrived at Polling Unit 6, Osagburu Hall, Ward 3, Ikere-Ekiti to participate in the election on Saturday.
It was reported that the polling centre also noted the presence of several elderly voters who came early for accreditation.
One of the elderly voters, Madam Abiodun Ajewole, 86, was seen waiting to be accredited before casting her vote.
Other elderly voters were also seen at Osagburu Hall as electoral officials continue the exercise.
Voting Starts At Oyebanji’s Unit
In a related development, residents of Ikogosi in Ekiti West Local Government Area were seen early at the polling unit of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
In Ward 6, Okelele, at Polling Unit 003, in front of the Oyebanji family compound, voters checked their names on the register before the voting commenced.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) came to the unit and briefed voters before accreditation and voting commenced around 8:30 am.
“I checked my name on the register,” said Aduke, who gave only her first name.
My name is on the register, I am ready to vote. I have checked my name. “I hope other people will come out and do,” she said.
