President Bola Tinubu has called the re-election of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, a clear vote of confidence in continuity, stability and people-centred governance.

This was contained in his congratulatory message to the governor on his victory at Saturday’s governorship election.

It was recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced that Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was the winner of the election on Sunday morning.

Tinubu commended the people of Ekiti State for their peaceful and orderly conduct and for giving their mandate to Governor Oyebanji. He also thanked the law enforcement agencies for maintaining law and order.

Tinubu urged INEC to continue to conduct peaceful, free, fair and credible election as the country prepares for Osun governorship election in August and the general election next year.

Oyebanji has become the first governor to be re-elected consecutively in the history of Ekiti State, having won the election with a landslide victory.

Governor Oyebanji’s first term had major strides in infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, education, healthcare and rural development on his agenda.

“The renewed mandate is thus a clear vote of confidence in continuity, stability and people-centred governance,” the President said in a statement released through his spokesman Bayo Onanuga.
