OBA OLOWU CELEBRATES ONE YEAR IN A GRAND STYLE.

The Owu kingdom Agog as HRM. Oba ( Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola Oluyalo Otileta VII. the 14th Olowu of Owu kingdom celebrates one year on throne of his forefathers.
The events attracted sons and daughters amidst prominent personalities from different walks of life both within and outside the country. Credit for seamless transfer was attributed to His Excellency, Chief Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR, the Balogun of Owu kingdom for the significant role he played after the demise of the erstwhile Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu CON, Amororo II.
The epoch event was used to laud the unprecedented developments recorded so far under the one year of ascending the throne .
Chief .Hon. Johnson Olu Fatoki , the chairman of the 1st year coronation anniversary in his welcome address appreciated everyone and congratulated the kabiesi on the double celebration , a year anniversary and Birthday celebration.
He highlighted the four day program which included : Press conference, Colloquium, Medical outreach and majorly installation of new chieftaincy titles conferred on individuals for their numerous contributions . He urged the new chiefs to be supportive in donating funds for the new Palace Project under construction.
In the course of the celebration, the special guest , Sen. Ibikunle Amosu applauded Oba Saka for the uncommon developments in Owu kingdom under his one year on throne, also congratulated him for his Birthday which coincided with the celebration, Amosu extended his greetings to all Owus’ throughout the country.
The pinnacle of the anniversary festivities was the grand conferment of prestigious chieftaincy titles upon deserving individuals based on their numerous contributions to the development of Owu kingdom.
One of the newly installed chief, Aare Bobaesye , chief Ugwumba chikezie Nwozu described Oba Saka as an epitome of knowledge and humility, whose leadership traits has been recognized many years back.
Oba Oluyalo expressed his gratitude to Almighty God for seeing him through all this while , said ” My vision is on Human Capacity Development and Socio-Economic Development ” .
Kabiesi initiatives on Olowu Scholars Foundation and Solace Foundation has touched many lives in positive ways through : Education, Health, Solar Street lights, Bore holes, Skills Acquisition and Economic Empowerment , to mention but few, also facilitated collaborations between a consortium of Nigerian Higher institutions and a collection of top rated institutions in the USA for research and development in different fields.
The last chieftaincy title was confered on Chief ( Dr) Kazeem Adeyanju Bakinson as Aare Mayegun of Owu kingdom.

The anniversary celebration was graced by an array of Traditional rulers, Owu council of chiefs, The Afobajes of Owu kingdom, Clerics, Oloris from different kingdoms, Distinguished personalities and well wishers.
