Three nominations have been sent to the Senate by President Bola Tinubu for confirmation as Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs).

Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the letter from the President at Tuesday’s plenary session of the Senate.

The Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been tasked with reviewing the nominations in further detail.

The committee’s assignment is to carry out the required screening and deliver its report as soon as possible.
