Segun Sowunmi, a former Atiku Abubakar spokesman and a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has named President Bola Tinubu as the primary culprit behind the party’s issues.
According to Sowunmi, Tinubu had no right to name Nyesom Wike the Federal Capital Territory’s (FCT) minister without first engaging the PDP’s elders.
In an appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today, the former Atiku spokesperson claimed that if Tinubu fired Wike and he rejoined the party, sanity would return to the PDP.
Sowunmi asserts: “President Tinubu is the PDP’s problem; he has no right to remove Wike from our party and name him Minister without consulting us.

“Obasanjo wrote to the party elders to request the formation of a government of national unity, but what did Tinubu do? The situation became difficult when he placed one of us in a strategic location.
“If he wants things to go smoothly, fire Wike, bring him back to the PDP, and check to see if the party lacks the stamina to act quickly.
“My position is very clear; I explained and justified it; I’m not speaking Greek.”
