Lagos State police have detained two suspected international scammers who specialize in falsifying degrees from various African and international colleges.
The defendants, Elvis Osakpolo Edokpain and Kelly Osas Endgieen, are accused of specializing in online fraud against their gullible victims. With the money they have amassed, they have been able to build homes across the nation and buy exotic cars.
After detectives at the zone’s Anti-Corruption Unit acquired reliable information from sources outside of Nigeria about a group of lads who specialize in forging foreign certifications, the tables turned against the accused, according to police sources in Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos.
Following receipt of the information, it was learned that Adegoke Fayoude, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the zone, assigned a detailed anti-corruption squad to look into it and issued orders for their immediate apprehension.

As per his orders, detectives reportedly stormed Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos, followed the suspects to the five-star Osapa-London hotel in Lekki, and then confronted them at the bus stop as they attempted to flee the hotel, according to police sources.
Upon inspecting their bags, it was discovered that Kenny Osas had a student identity card from Academic City College and Elvis Osakpolo Edokpiain had a certificate from Blue Crest College, Ghana.
A transcript of Elvis Osapolo’s academic record from Blue Crest University was found after more investigation.
In the course of their investigation, detectives found a recommendation letter and a letter of English competency from Blue Crest College.
The accused admitted to the police after questioning that they were never admitted to the institution but obtained their degree diploma with the assistance of a female Nigerian living in Ghana.
