In Nise, a community in the state’s Awka South Local Government Area, the incident happened on Saturday night.
It was reported that the criminals had climbed over a building’s fence and murdered the victims inside their apartment.
Locals reported that the assailants placed the victims’ bodies in the back of a car parked inside the compound.
The deceased children ranged in age from two to six.
The locals claimed that their father is a native physician.
No group has taken credit for the assault.
The incident, according to local sources, may have been related to a dispute over a business deal between the victims’ father and some other individuals.
On Monday, Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State police spokesperson, confirmed the murder.
Police Superintendent Mr. Ikenga informed the state’s Police Command on Sunday that the attack had taken place on Saturday.

“The attackers broke into the compound, murdered the victims, and then left their bodies inside a Mercedes Benz that was parked there,” he claimed.
The spokesperson said that police officers had gone to the scene and removed the bodies.
“We have taken control of the scene and have engaged with surrounding individuals as well as the deceased’s father. The information they have given us is assisting us in initiating a manhunt for the suspects,” he said.

The victims’ father, according to some locals, would frequently lock the kids in their apartment while he went on business with his wife, the mother, and only feed them when he got back.
