This comes after El-Rufai denied defecting from the All Progressives Congress, or APC, to the People’s Democratic Party.
Rumours circulated that El-Rufai may defect to the PDP.
However, the former governor responded, saying, “Please reject the flagrant lies and rumors regarding my political allegiance. I have directed the main fake news peddlers to my lawyers for future action.”
Presidential spokesman Daniel Bwala claimed in 2022 that El-Rufai will defect to the PDP before the 2023 general election.
El-Rufai had also disputed the allegation, saying on X, “Thanks @BwalaDaniel, but no, thanks.” Never, not even my body, will be found in the proximity of your new political party. “I am still laughing.”
