The Oodua People Congress (OPC) men and motorbike riders clashed violently Thursday in the state capital of Ado-Ekiti over the murder of a motorcycle ticketing officer, causing tension.

During the altercation, numerous people were hurt as OPC members and the motorcycle riders utilized hazardous weapons like knives and cutlasses.

The trouble began when the motorcycle riders accused the OPC member of being responsible for the death of a biker ticketing officer who was stationed near the Atikankan neighborhood of Ado Ekiti, according to an eyewitness who asked to remain anonymous.

To restore order to the area, members of the Ekiti State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad had to act quickly.
CSP Abutu Sunday, a spokesman for the Ekiti police, reported that six individuals had been taken into custody by the command in relation to the violent altercation.

He stated: “At approximately 11:20 a.m. today, 09/01/2025, the Command received a distress call informing them that some criminals were robbing and assaulting innocent people in the Atikankan Area of Ado-Ekiti.”

Six individuals were apprehended by RRS agents who were stationed at the axis.

They are being looked into right now. Arrests are being made of other gang members who are escaping.
