In 2024, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) arrested 29 individuals in Enugu State for a variety of offenses.
This was revealed by State Commandant Dr. Elijah Willie during a Friday interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu.
Vandalism of important national assets, impersonation, theft, and fraud are among the offenses, according to Willie.
In communities that struggle for peaceful resolutions, he said, the command has conducted several meetings and sensitization campaigns with stakeholders on communal harmony.

“During holidays and festive periods, the command also conducted special patrols to ensure protection of national, state, and individual assets,” he said.
According to Willie, the command made several significant arrests, including the individual detention of six suspects for damaging railroad lines with the vehicles used to convey the goods.
“Two more suspects were arrested on October 29 with Railways iron in a blue truck loaded with 210 lengths of iron, after four suspects were arrested on October 28 for vandalizing Railways iron found in a truck containing 277 heights of iron.”
He claimed that on December 20, two more individuals were caught for damaging a high-tension cable.
He mentioned that charges had been brought against the suspects who had been captured.
