Lagos State Police Command officers detained two further suspects on Friday who are suspected of being involved in the abduction of Mrs. Folasade Odumosu, the wife of former AIG Hakeem Odumosu, an assistant inspector general of police.
The two accused are Agbojule Smart, 27, and Keleke Michael, 30.
In a statement released at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, revealed that they were taken into custody by members of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Special Squad.
The Nigeria Police Force’s X handle tweeted a statement stating that the suspects had been found in possession of two locally made firearms, eleven live cartridges, and N2.25 million.
Following the order of Inspector-General of Police IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, to pursue the fugitives in relation to the abduction of Mrs. Odumosu, the wife of retired Assistant-Inspector General, AIG Hakeem Odumosu, the Lagos State CP Special Squad agents have captured two suspects, Agbojule Smart’m’, 27, and Keleke Michael’m’, 30.

As they were leaving Lagos State this morning, Friday, January 24, 2025, the suspects were taken into custody. They admitted to their crime to being a member of a four-person gang, two of whom had already been neutralized, during questioning.
There were two locally made guns, eleven live cartridges, and two million two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N2,250,000) that were recovered from the suspects upon their arrest, according to the statement.
Inspector-General Kayode Egbetokun praised the agents “for their gallantry in apprehending these suspects and encourages them to maintain this high standard of competence in the fight against crime in all its manifestations,” the announcement additionally stated.
Since the police are unwavering in their resolve to “reduce crime to an absolute minimum and foster the establishment of peace across the nation,” Adejobi further emphasized the force’s dedication to enhancing public security.
In Arepo, Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State, Folashade Odumosu, the wife of the retired AIG, was kidnapped last Thursday at the entrance to her home.
After yanking her from her Lexus SUV, the kidnappers led the former AIG’s wife across a marsh to an unidentified location.
Operatives from the Nigeria Police Force were said to have saved Mrs. Odumosu. On Wednesday, she was free once more.
The operation that resulted in the former AIG’s wife’s rescue was reportedly led by Lanre Ogunlowo, the Commissioner of Police for Ogun State. It was reported that the operation neutralized some of the kidnappers.
