The 12-member PDP Governors Forum, led by Governor Bala Mohammed, has rejected Senator Samuel Anyanwu’s decision to acknowledge Sunday Ude-Okoye as the party’s national secretary.
It was reported that Anyanwu returned to work as the PDP’s National Secretary on Monday.
This comes just 48 hours after Anyanwu asked security services to assist him in thwarting what he said was a plot to incite mayhem by the party’s 12 governors to recognize Hon. Sunday Ude-Okoye as a rival candidate for the job.
Vanguard claims that Anyanwu drove quietly via the service entrance behind Wadata House and into the party’s National Secretariat. He greeted the few secretariat employees who were available and then went inside his office.
According to reports, Sunday Ude-Okoye and Senator Samuel Anyanwu have been instructed by the PDP’s Board of Trustees (BoT) to abstain from all next BoT meetings until the national secretary controversy is settled.
Leadership claims that the resolution adopted by the Board of Directors at its most recent meeting included this.

According to a source who talked to the journal in question, the BoT was “very disappointed with the way events turned out.”
One of Anyanwu’s aides tried to physically prevent Ude-Okoye from attending the meeting, to which he was invited, during last week’s BoT meeting at the PDP’s national secretariat in Abuja, sparking a physical altercation over the dispute between Anyanwu and Ude-Okoye over who should be the party’s national secretary.
Just as he was being led to the high table, however, the BoT demanded that Ude-Okoye join the meeting.
According to sources at the meeting, the two candidates were asked by the party elders “to stay away from BoT meetings until the issue is resolved.”
