In the Gulma community, which is part of the Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, suspected Lakurawa terrorists attacked, killing one person and hospitalizing six others.
On Friday, Aliyu Sani Gulma, the chairman of Argungu Local Government, informed reporters that the attack happened at approximately 11:00 PM on Thursday while the locals were asleep.
Six people were reportedly shot and one person was killed during the attack.

The injured people are presently being treated at the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi, Gulma observed.

The attackers ran into the forest when they saw that some people of the community had banded together to oppose them, Gulma added.

Military forces have been sent to the region to protect the safety of the inhabitants and their property, he verified, and he has reported the event to the appropriate security authorities.

Kebbi Police Command’s public relations officer, CSP Nafi’u Abubakar, informed Daily Trust that the command had already sent out mobile police officers to the area when called.

Adamu Aliero, the senator for Kebbi Central, claimed that the Nigerian military had encouraged terrorists to relocate to the Niger Republic just two months prior to the most recent incident.

According to Aliero, the development came about as a result of the actions taken by the Chief of Defense Staff, Abubakar Badaru, the Minister of Defense, and other important players.

According to Aliero, “We made it clear to the minister that if we play with the Lakurawa terrorists, the North West might suffer the same fate as the North East.” A recurrence of the North East in the North West would be disastrous, and the war can be concluded in five days. We need to protect the North West because it has a larger population, more fertile soil, better animals, rivers for effective irrigation, fishing, and other resources.
