The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently married Aliyu Imran, who was tragically slain by a mob in Kaduna State’s Igabi Local Government Area.
An angry mob in the Gadan-Gayan area of Igabi LGA set Imran, the Assistant Superintendent of Narcotic 1, on fire, according to information obtained.
This allegedly happened after a car that Imran and his coworkers were chasing was involved in a crash that claimed lives.
Reports state that the culprit tried to elude capture by reversing his vehicle while the officer and his squad were pursuing him, killing at least three people on the site.
Imran apparently tried to defuse the situation by stepping in, but the mob attacked him after he did so.
While he was being stabbed, the Officer in Charge (OC) called for help.
After a brave police officer took him to a nearby hospital, the crowd stormed the medical institution, dragged him out, and burned him on fire, according to sources the media outlet cited.
The NDLEA has been accused by Imran’s grieving family of failing to provide them with a statement, condolences, or compensation, expressing their dissatisfaction.
It was reported that several NDLEA officials conducted an operation in Gadan-Gayan on Friday. They are disguising it. We are this agency. Know what they typically do? In the event that an officer is killed or involved in an accident like this, the NDLEA will attempt to conceal the incident in order to avoid providing the lossed family with compensation.
When some patrolling officers noticed the suspect, he reversed and began to drive away.
As a result, the officers pursued the car that was attempting to flee from them in their own vehicle. Consequently, four persons were killed in an accident involving the car they were pursuing during that process.
When our cops arrived, Aliyu Imran, one of them, came down to try to defuse the situation. Then he was attacked by individuals. Even I have been in a similar circumstance in the past.Usually, the instant you see that things are becoming tense, you leave right away.

As a result, they left Aliyu Imran there during the procedure. Thus, those men stabbed him. One police officer there stabbed him, and afterward, he rode his bike to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to the source.
He claimed that after dragging the NDLEA officer out and burning him alive, the mob followed the officers to the hospital.
Additionally, the source revealed the depressing development: “You know what’s heartbreaking? His marriage ended in December of last year. Yesterday, Saturday, his wife passed out while they were burying him.
“The crowd became antagonistic after Aliyu got out of the car to diffuse the tension. During operations, I have experienced comparable mob situations, so I know how these things get out of hand. It’s best to leave right away if tensions start to build.
They abandoned Aliyu Imran in the midst of the confusion. The crowd assaulted him, repeatedly stabbing him.
“A police officer rode his bike to a local hospital in an attempt to save his life. While Aliyu was still struggling to survive, the same mob broke into the hospital, pulled him out, and set him on fire from the heat.
For his family, the agency has taken no action. They haven’t even formally addressed the incident yet. This type of incident has occurred previously, and NDLEA has previously concealed it.
The insider claimed that this is not the first time a cop has died while performing their duties.
In many instances, he said, these incidents go unreported, and the families receive very little recompense.

In reaction to the regrettable incident, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi denied allegations that the organization disregards its victims.
He confirmed that direct communication between the agency chairman and the deceased officer’s family is underway.
In order to meet with the family, a delegation from the agency’s headquarters, headed by the director of operations and general investigations, is currently in Kaduna. Besides, the chairman had already sent out another commander. Therefore, it is untrue to say that the family has been abandoned.
