Christian Oladimeji, an Assistant Superintendent of Immigration (ASI), was shot and hurt in Minna, Niger State, during a clash between police and criminals over allegedly stolen goods.
Zagazola Makama, a security analyst, acknowledged in a post on his official 𝕏 handle on Saturday that the event happened on Friday at approximately 12:30 hours.
The ‘A’ Division Police Command in Minna’s Surveillance Patrol Team, under the command of ASP Ibrahim Audu Paiko, was reportedly on a routine patrol close to the Obasanjo Complex when they noticed a group of road construction workers carrying iron rods that they believed to be stolen.
The workers ran after leaving the supplies behind when they saw the cops. However, hoodlums and other road construction workers attacked the police as they were trying to retrieve the abandoned things, throwing stones and other objects at them repeatedly.
Police Vehicle Damage and Unintentional Shooting
Additionally, the police’s Dangote Patrol Vehicle was destroyed in the incident. ASP Ibrahim Audu fired a shot in an effort to scatter the crowd, but ASI Christian Oladimeji, who was riding by on a motorcycle, was unintentionally hit.

“She was hit by the bullet in her lap, which led to her falling off the motorcycle and sustaining more injuries,” the report said.
Medical staff stated that Oladimeji had a fractured waist but that no gunshot bits were still within her body when she was taken to the IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna.
Several suspects have been placed under arrest by authorities for interrogation, and the cops involved in the incident have been subject to disciplinary actions.
