When armed men stormed the Elyon Paradise Ministry Church in Asagba Ogwashi, Delta State, during a Friday night vigil, six attendees were kidnapped and a pastor was shot.
The pastor, Apostle Divine Omodia, was shot and had two of his fingers severed by the assailants, according to witnesses, who then took six members of the congregation to an unidentified location.
After being taken to the hospital, the pastor is being treated by doctors who are fighting for his life. This is the first time the kidnappers have called for ransom since the attack.
“Since the incident, the kidnappers have not called to demand a ransom for the release of the abducted victims as of today (Sunday),” informed the source.
A rescue crew is aggressively looking for the victims in the nearby woods, according to Delta State Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the event.
