The current All Progressives Congress, or APC, has no other presidential candidate in the running for the 2027 election, according to former Senate Chief Whip Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
In an interview with the Senate Press Corps on Tuesday, Kalu emphasized that some former presidents who did not perform well returned for a second term, and he based his optimism on his perception that President Bola Tinubu was carrying out his duties effectively.
He added that although the economic changes have caused hardship on Nigerians, they were intended to create a strong economy and urged patience from the people.
We’re urging Nigerians to be patient with the reform process,” Kalu stated. We completely embrace democratic values and are supporting the current president; we are not searching for another presidential candidate outside of our party.
Though challenging, reforms are essential. The economy has been shattered, and we are currently attempting to rebuild it.
Patience is necessary, but it’s a difficult process. Nigeria is not the only place experiencing economic issues; London, Canada, and other places are also having trouble.
A ranking senator and former governor of Abia State stated that the Tinubu-led administration was consulting before making decisions on certain strategic matters that would benefit the country.
“The president now consults more widely before making important economic decisions, both domestically and abroad.”
Speaking on the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, which has garnered new media attention following the publication of the memoir of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, the former military head of state, Kalu stated that he is eager for a second edition because, in his view, the first edition lacked all the facts.
Babangida’s book was not fully revealed in the first edition, thus I am eagerly awaiting the second edition.

“I witnessed what transpired on June 12 and I am aware of what happened.” Babangida needs to identify the people who are obstructing the election announcement.
“The coup in issue was carried out by the Nigerian military; it was not an Igbo coup. Undoubtedly, Moshood Abiola prevailed in the election.
According to him, Moshood Abiola need to take the oath of office after his death.
“Abiola should be pictured with Nigeria’s previous presidents since he won. His posthumous national accolade is something I applaud former President Buhari for bestowing.
“I would also urge President Tinubu to give him official recognition and put his image in its proper place.” This would assist his family find closure.
