In 2027, the opposition party could not afford a “try and error tactic,” according to Abayomi Tella, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, who has urged party members vying for posts to strengthen their ties with voters and engage in grassroots activism.
They would lose the election and their popularity, according to Tella, if they were unable to establish rapport and trust.
Speaking on Monday, Tella was part of an event hosted by Toyin Amuzu, the PDP’s 2023 contender for the Abeokuta South federal district.
In order to promote the party throughout the entire state, the chairman urged them to be amicable with one another.
All of our prospective candidates should be aware that they won’t be able to get close to the electorate until roughly six months before the election.

“That’s the reason you lost elections and lost favor. Get close to the grassroots and start building relationships with the people now that the election is still a long way off.
We should use this forum to bring our party together, I beg you all.
Our power lies in our togetherness; we cannot afford to make the same mistakes twice. We do have a certain responsibility to fulfill, but 2027 is our year, he remarked.
“Well, if we have a lot of representatives, senators, and governors empowering people within their four years of tenure, I’m sure by now everyone would have a job,” Amuzu stated.
