According to Kenneth Okonkwo, a former Labour Party chieftain, President Bola Tinubu can only be overthrown by a coalition in 2027.
The two opposition parties, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), were reportedly unable to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress in 2027, according to Okonkwo.
In an interview with Arise News on Monday, the Nollywood icon referred to LP under Julius Abure as the APC’s housemaid and PDP as the party’s servant of servants.

They can’t win a Tinubu if they don’t band together. So don’t blame the ruling party if they can’t agree. Under Abure, the LP is a housemaid to the APC, while the PDP is now a servant of servants.

Therefore, you wouldn’t hold the APC accountable if they used inducement to crush the opposition. However, he remarked, “You would blame the APC for not providing Nigerians with good governance.”
President Tinubu can only be overthrown by a coalition, the former APC chieftain emphasized. On the grounds that Tinubu should not be let to serve a second term, Okonkwo characterized his administration as unimaginably awful.

When the coalition is formed, the Nollywood icon recommended holding an open primary election. He said that whoever wins the primary, whether from the North or the South, would have to commit to serving Tinubu for just four years.

We are currently in the second part of the game, therefore it is a completely different situation in 2027. The North would claim he would spend eight years if you said you wanted to bring in a Southerner who is not Tinubu, but it would still be against the terms of the deal. Given Tinubu’s current level of badness, would you think that if you gave him another four years, we would continue to descend into even more poverty and suffering, as per the World Bank report? Would you say that it wouldn’t be unfair if a Northerner came in and started the rule in the middle of the game? Yes, it will.

“Let there be an open primary election in a North-South coalition; the winner will be obligated to serve for four years.” He must consent to serve four years to finish Tinubu’s rule if a Southerner wins. If a Northerner prevails, give him four years, and then it goes back to the South. Because that is the only way we can stop this regime, which has gotten so horrible that it cannot be stopped,” he said.
