Politicians in the South East have been pushed to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.
The South East can only fully gain from the federal government by joining the ruling party, according to reports citing Governor Uzodimma.
He made this statement on Saturday during the APC South East Leaders’ Consultative Meeting in Enugu. In order to win in every section of the region, he urged the party leaders to stand together and cooperate.
Among those present at the meeting were Francis Nwifuru, the governor of Ebonyi State; Chief Benjamin Kalu, the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives; Anyim Pius Anyim, the former president of the Senate; Senator Orji Uzor Kalu; and Chief Uche Nnaji, the minister of innovation, science, and technology.
The current governors in the other geopolitical zones are joining the APC, as you surely have seen. He claimed that the Southeast would be in close proximity to the corridors of power by joining the APC, which controls the central government of Nigeria and various subnational administrations.
According to the chairman of the APC Governors Forum, the party and its South East stakeholders are dedicated to furthering the region’s interests.
It was a productive interaction with the goals of strengthening party infrastructure, fostering unity, and coordinating our grassroots activism with our overarching political agenda.

Intentionally, we continue to promote our party’s progressive values while making sure the South East has a strong link to the national government. This relationship is important for the socioeconomic advancement of our area and goes beyond simple politics.
“Already, our modest efforts have yielded visible outcomes, with our region occupying key positions in national leadership. We are optimistic that even greater opportunities lie ahead. Our ultimate goal remains the advancement of the South East,” he added.
