Seriake Dickson, the former governor of Bayelsa State, has cautioned PDP leaders not to let the pressures and defections against the party scare them.
Dickson was quoted as saying that the party needs to restructure and resolve its internal problems and crisis.
He made this statement on his Facebook page on Monday, following his participation in the party’s consultative meeting on Sunday, which was called by the PDP Governors Forum and included governors, former governors, and party members from the National Working Committee.
As a former governor, the chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, and the chairman of the PDP National Reconciliatory Committee, which was appointed by five chairmen, he said, “I had the opportunity to interact, share ideas, and give my views; therefore, there is no player in the party across the country that I have not interacted with.”
According to the senator from Bayelsa West, the party’s governors and leadership would carry out the decisions made during the meeting.
He underlined that the governors must cooperate in order to overcome the party’s obstacles.
“I hope the governors, who serve as the party’s operational leaders, carry out the resolutions. He said, “They must collaborate closely, demonstrate a stronger dedication to the party, and inspire and motivate party members as well as Nigerians in general.”

The governors were informed by Senator Dickson that they should not be scared by the nation’s political events.
With all the threats and harassments, we did it under President Buhari. Despite a devastating recession, we managed to keep the party afloat, win elections, and turn it over to them.
“We are behind them, and everyone needs to pitch in to rebuild and restructure the celebration,” I told them.
“Therefore, a committee was established, and it will be a pleasure to collaborate with the other members of the committee to see how we can offer suggestions on how to resolve all the issues, support the governors and other leaders, and prevent the party from collapsing,” he continued.
