Protests over President Bola Tinubu’s choice of Cyril Tsenyil as the Managing Director of the recently established North Central Development Commission (NCDC) have been dismissed by the North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum.
By way of its chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, the APC Forum declared on Thursday that those behind the demonstrations against Tsenyil’s appointment are opposition-funded imposters who aim to discredit the North Central Development Commission and obstruct its objective of fostering rapid development in the North-Central area.

The Concerned Plateau Youth Forum, a group of Plateau State residents, reportedly urged President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday to immediately withdraw Tsenyil’s candidacy, claiming that the appointment does not serve the interests of the Plateau State people as a whole.

The organization said in a statement signed by Danladi Pam that it would demonstrate in Abuja to demand that Tsenyil’s appointment as the MD of the North Central Development Commission be withdrawn. The North-Central APC Forum responded by condemning Danladi Pam and the Concerned Plateau Youth Forum as nameless organizations that are controlled by opposition politicians who are unhappy with the accomplishments of the APC government under President Bola Tinubu.

The Forum also denounced the statement the group issued as an effort to exert pressure on President Tinubu.

The APC Forum advised the suspected conspirators to think twice before acting in order to prevent being seen as enemies of the North-Central area.

They are neither native to the North-Central region nor inhabitants of the Plateau, we boldly declare. Given that Mr. Cyril Tsenyil, a tried-and-true technocrat, has been appointed Managing Director, no right-thinking North Centraler would want to stand in the way of the region’s accelerated development through the North-Central Development Commission.

We don’t know the aforementioned Danladi Pam or his outfit. We consider the faceless people to be instruments in the hands of the opposition, notwithstanding our demand that they reveal their identities.

We disassociate ourselves from these anonymous people as legitimate owners of the North-Central region. They are not our members, and neither are their sponsors, nor are they interested in the North-Central region’s overall development and advancement.

The statement, which Zazzaga, an APC campaign council member for the 2023 election, signed, said, “We exhort the well-meaning people of the region to disregard the attempts being made by these entities to cause confusion and sabotage the mandate of the North-Central Development Commission.”

An APC member who works for Tinubu is the nominee.
The North-Central Development Commission’s appointment of Cyril Tsenyil as managing director was deemed well-deserved by the APC Forum.

In addition to his stellar work as a professional accountant, the Forum observed that Tsenyil has shown steadfast loyalty and dedication to the APC by carrying out a number of duties and responsibilities that have greatly aided in the growth and accomplishments of the party.

One APC member who possesses a card is Mr. Cyril Tsenyil. He has contributed to President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s achievements, and we fully trust him to fulfill the North-Central Development Commission’s mandate.

Many of our members have served alongside him on various committees and can vouch for his skill, so we are aware of his capacity.

“We would want to reaffirm that, as stakeholders who advocated for the establishment of the North-Central Development Commission, we wholeheartedly endorse Cyril Tsenyil and Mr. President’s selection of him.

We urge the people of North-Central to provide him with all the assistance he requires in order to complete this crucial task. We encourage the people of the North-Central to pray and work for the success of this new commission, which was an answer to prayer after a first delay,” the statement continued.

The North-Central region is well-positioned to meet its goal of obtaining six million votes for Tinubu in the 2027 election, according to the APC Forum, which commended Tinubu for designating Tsenyil as the Managing Director of the Commission and said that Tsenyil would oversee the organization’s mission.
