Following a thorough analysis of the country’s socioeconomic trajectory, the governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) reiterated their steadfast dedication to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to reports, the APC continues to be Nigeria’s most institutionally coherent political platform, with unparalleled records of reform, electoral success, and national unity, according to the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), which was hosted by Senator Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, during a two-day strategic regional meeting in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.
The PGF urged all Nigerians, domestically and internationally, to support Tinubu and the APC as the country progresses toward a more secure, inclusive, and forward-looking future in a statement delivered to Governor Okpebholo, Fred Itua, by the Chief Press Secretary on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

The Forum recognized that Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s resignation as the party’s National Chairman coincided with the party’s ongoing development.

By promising to cooperate in implementing radical reforms, bolstering institutional trust, and accelerating socioeconomic growth across all geopolitical zones, the PGF reiterated its strong commitment to a united, just, and prosperous Nigeria.

Governors agreed to uphold APC principles while using innovation, technology, and intergovernmental cooperation to propel Nigeria’s development from the ground up.

The formal welcome of Governor Eno
The PGF formally welcomed Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom, to the ruling party, pointing out that his and his supporters’ choice to join the APC represents a growing national agreement on the revolutionary policies being carried out by President Tinubu’s administration.

Congratulating President Tinubu and his team, the PGF praised the broad support for his programs in every State under the Forum’s leadership.

The Reforms of Tinubu
The Forum’s participants also conducted a thorough assessment of the country’s political, social, security, and economic development.

The governors were pleased with the improved coordination between federal and state institutions, especially the emphasis on energy transition, food security, infrastructure modernization, social sector revitalization, and budgetary reform.

In keeping with the tenets of constitutional federalism, they promised to remain in line with national goals.
The Forum acknowledged the success of macroeconomic stabilization measures such the elimination of fuel subsidies, the unification of exchange rates, and the rationalization of debt, and it endorsed a strategic shift towards social justice and inclusive prosperity.

The governors emphasized that even if economic indications indicate that the economy is recovering, growth needs to be further democratized by increasing investments in social safety nets, MSMEs, food security, job creation, and poverty eradication.

Safety
The Forum praised security agencies and continuous efforts to combat crime and protect national sovereignty in the areas of security and national stability.

In addition to urging more funding for surveillance infrastructure and frontline staff welfare, the governors reiterated their support for interagency coordination, community policing, and grassroots intelligence networks.

The PGF praised recent measures and trips to Benue State, offered sympathies to families impacted by insecurity, especially in Benue and Niger states, and reaffirmed its shared commitment to supporting the President’s national security architecture.

The statement also emphasized the importance of community structures and local government in providing services and promoting democratic participation, underscoring the necessity of revitalized grassroots governance.

Following the press conference, Governor Uzodimma revealed the tragic news of Aminu Dantata’s death. Dantata was a respected national leader from Kano State. In his honor, he called for a minute of quiet.
