The arrest of a Warri kinsman for allegedly importing 414.2 kg of cannabis sativa has further bolstered the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s (NDLEA) efforts to stop illegal drug transactions.
The street value of the material is estimated to be more than N200 million.
Our correspondent learned that the suspect, identified as Emami Ajetsibogho, was taken into custody by agency agents affiliated with the Lagos State Command.
The material was found hidden in multiple bags and sealed in satchets of black and white nylon when Ajetsibogho, who was reportedly the direct younger brother of a controversial Itsekiri leader, was arrested in Lagos on June 25, 2025.

Since he has allegedly eluded numerous attempts to apprehend him, the suspect, who was born in Warri South, Delta State, is considered to be extremely powerful.
According to reliable information obtained by our correspondent, an APC guber candidate and former deputy governor made desperate attempts to undermine NDLEA authorities in an attempt to cover up the incident and clear the suspect, but his attempts were unsuccessful.
When reached, Mallum Abdullahi, the spokesperson for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s (NDLEA) Lagos State Command, stated that he was not in Lagos and neither confirmed nor denied the claim.
Concerned Citizens for Justice and Accountability, a civil society organization, has urged all well-meaning Nigerians, Delta residents, and security services to take a serious interest in the issue and demand a prompt, open inquiry.
In a statement, Casey Wealth, president of the organization based in Warri Delta State, stated that the culture of impunity must end immediately and that the public should be informed about the situation.
“We urge all good-hearted Nigerians, Delta residents, and security services to take a serious interest in this issue and insist on a prompt, open investigation. The truth should be known by the public. There must be an end to the impunity culture.
“How long will we remain silent as drug lords masquerading as politicians ruin our youth and transform our neighborhoods into chaotic theaters? Let this be a call to action. According to the statement, Delta State is not a haven for drug-sponsored chaos, and Nigeria is not for sale.
