In a statement that he personally signed and made public on Tuesday, Ayanlola further said that the claim that he had been bought off by a candidate from a different party was untrue.

According to reports, Ayanlola was spotted welcoming Hon. Seyi Jakande, an All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate. She clarified that the two political rivals had just met at a local social event and that they had to greet one other because they knew each other.

His birthday celebration took place near my house on Ayantuga Street in Mushin.

Two of us merely exchanged greetings when we were there last Sunday night at around 7:00 p.m.

“I remain the Labour Party’s nominee for chairman of the Mushin LCDA in Mushin, Lagos.

I want to emphasize, nonetheless, that I did not receive any payment from the APC candidate in Mushin LCDA.

“I have been running for the chairperson of the Mushin LCDA and have not given up or backed down for anyone. I am still a member of the Labour Party.

I just greeted Seyi Jakande because I’ve known him for a very long time and because I play politics amicably.

I make a plea to all of my fervent supporters in the Mushin LCDA as well as all Labour Party members that I am a contender for victory.

“My programs for the LCDA’s development are sound.

“I want to reassure the members of the Mushin LCDA that I will not be deterred by any amount of deception or extortion.

“In order to bring about a positive change in Mushin, I urge all of my supporters to turn out in large numbers and vote for me on election day, July 12, 2025.”
