Professor Nentawe Yilwatda was congratulated by the Arewa Christian Youth Leadership Forum (ACYLF) on becoming the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja.
As a “distinguished technocrat, patriot, and proud son of Plateau State,” the group celebrated Yilwatda’s appointment as a strategic turning point for the ruling party and a historic moment in the political integration of Northern Christians.
Professor Yilwatda, a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and an authority on digital governance, contributes “a wealth of experience, innovation, and generational insight” to the leadership of the APC, according to a statement signed by ACYLF’s National Chairman, Dunijir Gatama.
“This appointment is a bold and strategic recalibration of leadership within the APC—it is not just a routine political reshuffle,” the statement says. It demonstrates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visionary leadership and his determination to bring the party up to date by bringing in capable, young, and forward-thinking leaders.

Emphasizing the prior appointments of General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defense Staff and Senator George Akume as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), the group stressed that Professor Yilwatda’s rise further reflects the President’s dedication to inclusive governance.
